Assisi, Umbria, Italy |
Arrived at Assisi Station at 7:30pm. It was a nice little station. | As soon as I got out the station, a medieval hilltown of Assisi appeared in front of my eyes! This is the birthplace of San Francesco. I was supposed to take a bus from the station to the town of Assisi, but I was magnetized to the fantastic view of the town and my feet were heading towards it without really thinking how long it would take me to get there. |
The sun was setting and casting a golden glow. It was sheer beauty. |
The town, the golden wheat field, trees, all were shining reflected by the sunset. I felt like I was in the dream. | It was getting dark as I was ascending the hill. | Soon I was very glad and excited to find the Basilica di San Francesco lit up high up the hill. |
It was 8:30pm as I reached my hotel room. As I opened a window, there was this church, the Chiesa di San Pietro, right in front. | The sun set over the calm Umbrian Valley. |
