On the following day, I headed out to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The weather was so pleasant that I decided to walk to the museum. |
Having seen enough works of art, I went up to the roof for a drink and enjoyed such pretty views of the Midtown and Upper West Side skylines across Central Park. I thought this was the perfect place to see Billionaires' Row, i.e., super-tall, super-skinny, super-luxurious, super-expensive residential skyscrapers recently built or currently being constructed in the area around 57th Street and Central Park South. |
Looking toward the west, I could see the Dakota in which John Lennon and Yoko Ono lived, and the historic twin-towered San Remo apartment building. Lush new spring greens on the trees were so beautiful. |
This was not the first time for me to come in to this area, but I had not noticed that there was the Group of Bears statue right beside the Met. I wonder if it's been here for long... |
I started heading toward the west through Central Park. Cherry blossoms were in bloom. |
I rested by the Lake. It was so peaceful and tranquil. |
And I reached the Bethesda Terrace that sits in the middle of Central Park. |
Since I had been here before, I felt like I had really come back as I looked up at “Angel of the Waters” atop the Bethesda Fountain. And I plodded further to the west. |
The San Remo that I had seen from the rooftop of the Met began to appear, and I walked uphill to get there. |
And at last, I came out of Central Park and got to Central Park West. It was a much longer walk than I thought it would be. I never realized how vast Central Park was! |
