I took metro to Alexandria, VA. Before before crossing the Potomac River, the metro started to run above ground. The Washington Monument could been seen from as crossing the river. |
The fee trolley was waiting for me right in front of the King Street Metro Station to take me to Old Town Alexandria. |

The Market Square was quiet with almost no one in sight in broad daylight on the 4th of July perhaps it was too hot outside. |
I wandered along King Street, Old Town Alexandria's main street, and found antique stores, art galleries, and restaurants. |

It was 2:30 already. I hadn't eaten since I had breakfast at Kramers Afterwords Cafe & Grill so kept walking looking for somewhere to eat. |
On King Street, I saw the sign, "IL PORTO Ristorante," with a fluttering Italian flag, I soon entered this restaurant. |

The ambience was very pleasant and cozy. |
I had the Fettuccine Alfredo which was fantastic! |
