After enjoyed the High Line, I walked down to the Lower East to visit the Tenement Museum. As I crossed the street in the neighborhood of Greenwich Village, glancing over the "One" World Trade Center, I had mixed feelings about how the skyline had changed over a decade. | The Washington Square Arch was erected in 1889 to celebrate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration as the first president of the United States. I stood under the Arch and saw the two statues of George Washington. One is titled "Washington at War" and the other, "Washington at Peace." And I wandered into the park. |
It is a compact but beautiful park surrounded by elm trees. | I was surprised to see a man playing the grand piano which I wondered how it got there... |
