I took Amtrak from DC to New York. It was sweltering hot as I got out of Penn Station and walked up to the hotel to check in. I was not a first timer here in New York, yet each time I come to this city, I always get excited. |
Since I had been to Empire State Building before, I went to the top of the Rockefeller Center to see what it would be like. The recently built One World Trade Center could be seen in the distance. |

More and more skyscrapers have been built in Manhattan recently, and yet the Empire State Building, I think, remains the most beloved and recognized symbol of New York City. |
Taking a closer look, I could see the crowds in the observatory deck of the Empire State Building! So many people up there! |

View on the west side, the Hudson River, New Jersey and beyond. |
Looking toward the north side of Manhattan, Central Park, of course. |
