Following last night's Argerich concert, there was another Argerich concert that I was going to go see this evening. Till then, I visited a few spots on the Unter den Linden "under the linden trees" boulevard, which is lined with museums, palaces, university buildings, and shops.

I first headed to the Berlin Cathedral, the largest Protestant church in Berlin.

As entering inside, I glanced up at the fresco of Jesus on the portal of the entrance of the dome.

My breath was taken away by the enormous nave with the dome soaring so high above.

There were beautiful stained glass windows at the chancel wall that depicts the Birth, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Christ.

Looking up to the left, the pipe organ here is considered to be the largest in Germany. It has as many as 7,269 pipes!

Before making the final steps up to the top of the dome, there was a corridor where I could look down inside the cathedral through the glass walls. It was quite thrilling, feeling like getting sucked all the way down to the ground.

Climbing the long steps was quite a challenge, indeed, but as soon as I reached the top of dome and saw the panoramic views of the city, I'd soon forgotten how tired I was! Berlin really is such a vast city.

Along the Unter den Linden boulevard, such historic buildings and architectures as St. Hedwig's Cathedral topped with a big blue-green copper dome, Humboldt University, and the State Opera where I was last night for the Martha Argerich concert.

As I looked down toward a museum complex, known as the "Museum Island" which houses five museums, among which I could confirm the Altes Museum, the Neues Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie, and could barely see the Pergamonmuseum and the Bode-Museum afar.

I also enjoyed the views on the opposite side toward the Berliner Fernsehturm, Berlin Television Tower in a district where used to be the German Democratic Republic, East Germany. I could see somewhat different patterns of structures on this side.

Back down outside the cathedral, a river appeared and I saw a flock of people walking on the banks or waiting for a boat cruise to enjoy the views.

I joined the crowd and strolled along the River Spree. I found the interesting bronze statues of young gilrs and a boy in naked, sitting on the wall of the river.

Its title? It's pretty straightforward. "Three girls and a boy"

It was pretty relaxing, wandering along the river with a view of the cathedral, and I walked through the museums on the Museum Island. Hope to visit some of them on my next visit to Berlin.
