On my way back to the hotel from the Berliner Philharmonie, I passed the monument to the Berlin Wall. It was the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was so quiet around and I took a close look at the walls of thick cement blocks that had separated the one half of the city of Berlin from the other for 28 years. It was quite unimaginable. |
I then came back here again to say goodbye to another historical monument, the Brandenburg Gate. | |
Not just Germany's but also Europe's symbol of peace and unity looked so stately and majestic against the deep, dark night sky. |
